About us

It began when a Yoga Teacher and Organic Farmer fell in love... in 2017, shortly after meeting, David and Gina married their passions and started leading yoga retreats with Farm-to-Table meals. With over two decades of combined experience in food service, hospitality and growing food, the offerings David and Gina provided together were effortless and wildly successful.

Their dream of owning a farm to host their experiences became reality in 2023. The purchase of their home on a tidal river in iconic Downeast Maine, now provides a space to lead Retreats, Yoga Classes and Farm-to-Table experiences, both private and for the community!

To make an unforgettable Farm-to-Table experience, David and Gina provide a Local Private Chef, live singer song-writer, a beautiful farm setting, use their own or locally raised meats and harvest the organic produce THAT day.

Root to Rise Farm is an incredible, heart-centered, family-loving place of sacred nourishment and relationship with Earth, body, and community. Gina, David, and Andes are radiant humans with so much to give in our world, and together, they show us what is possible when a family dreams and create together, in love.

Thanks so much for all you did to make our girls getaway so fun and memorable. We totally enjoyed our rooted yoga class with your guidance followed by a beautiful and delicious farm to table dinner.  The singer/songwriter really added to the whole experience. Our evening at your farm was truly a highlight of our time in Maine!

On nice days, meals will be held outside in the shade of evergreen trees.

On rainy days, meals will be held in our newly renovated, light-filled yoga studio that overlooks those evergreens.

HELP US GET EVEN BETTER!

If you'd like to help us grow our Farm Dinner vision, please consider donating to our Farm!

Our vision is to bring local chefs, musicians and farmers together for a unique, Downeast dining experience. Our family is growing by one this winter as we welcome a new baby, so we are escalating our dreams to go from a couple farm dinners (this year) to many each Summer-Fall going forward.

We believe people should know where their dinner comes from, eat healthy and enjoy food without pesticides. We also love building community and sharing what we do with our neighbors and those visiting from out-of-town who are looking for a cool, Maine meal offering.

Currently our dinners are held in a serene place, but closer to the house so the kitchen (in the house) is nearby for serving guests more easily. Our goal is to relocate to the farm field.

With donations we will:

  • Move the dining location to the vegetable field so guests can watch (or participate in) the harvest
  • Build a timber-frame structure using local lumber to shade the dining,
  • Level out the land as needed
  • Add a cooking area/grill/"mini-kitchen" for the guests to watch the chef prepare their meal
  • Surround the structure with custom netting for bug-free eating
  • Add a half bathroom closer to the field
  • Eventually upgrade our bench seats to handmade wooden benches or vintage chairs
  • And when available, upgrade the tables to long, live-edge handmade locally, wood tables
